Weapons Offense - Glen Burnie

On February 16, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Interstate 97 and Maryland Route 100 in Glen Burnie. Officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle and located a loaded semi-automatic handgun and a civil amount of suspected marijuana. During the course of their investigation, officers learned that the driver was prohibited from possessing a firearm. The driver failed standardized field sobriety tests administered by the officers. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

On February 15, 2023, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Western District Tactical Patrol Unit detectives observed a weapons violation while conducting proactive patrols in the 8200 block of Parham Court in Severn. Detectives observed a subject they were familiar with due to prior encounters placing an undetermined object underneath a trashcan outside a residence. Upon further investigation, detectives discovered that the object placed under the trashcan was a loaded, blue/black semi-automatic handgun. The subject was arrested and charged accordingly.

On February 16, 2023 at approximately 2:30 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation in the area of Laurel Fort Meade Road and Russett Green West in Laurel. During the course of their investigation, probable cause was developed to conduct a search of the vehicle. During their search officers located a loaded semi-automatic handgun and a civil amount of suspected marijuana. Officers would go on to learn that the passenger was prohibited from possessing a firearm. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and charged accordingly.
