Annapolis, MD (June 7, 2021) - Department of Inspections & Permits Director Greg Africa announced his retirement from Anne Arundel County government after 16 years of service. Assistant Director Mark Wedemeyer has been named Acting Director.
“I want to thank Greg for his dedication to the County and his many efforts to serve our residents throughout the pandemic,” County Executive Steuart Pittman said. “While Inspections and Permits work through this transition, we remain committed to improving customer services and improving turnaround times on permits.”
The County will begin a search to recruit a new director for the department. As the search process begins, County leadership will work with Acting Director Wedemeyer to support I&P staff to ensure smooth continuity of operations during the transition.
