“Excited to see attention given to nonprofits in the county which are doing an amazing job caring and meeting the needs of Anne Arundel County residents.”
- Survey respondent, September 2023.
We couldn't agree more! Nonprofit organizations provide important services to our residents each and every day, and we know how challenging the work can be. Anne Arundel County government created the Nonprofit Center to uplift the organizations that are making a difference in our communities.
But, we couldn't build a program without knowing the needs of the nonprofit community. This survey was one piece of the puzzle and we are grateful to the 100+ organizations that shared their thoughts with us.
Here are some highlights:
- Some organizations have been serving residents for over 60 years
- In-person trainings were the most desired format, but not by much
- A large proportion of respondents are interested in a platform to post event, an annual conference, and submitting features for Nonprofit News
- Nearly 60% expressed interested in the nonprofit accelerator concept

The survey has been reopened for organizations that did not get a chance to participate. Updated results will be posted in March 2024 and will be used to determine how the Nonprofit Center allocates resources in FY 2025.
