Limited English Proficiency

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. As a recipient of Federal financial grants, Anne Arundel County Government takes every reasonable step to ensure that our County programs, services, and activities are accessible to eligible persons with limited English proficiency. This includes identifying geographic areas that contain a certain percentage of individuals who have a limited ability to speak, write or understand English.

Rest assured, Anne Arundel County Government continuously strives towards ensuring appropriate translations of projects, programs and services in the applicable language of the identified County LEP populations.  Anne Arundel County Government is committed to improving access to County services for persons with Limited English Proficiency, and shall operate its programs and services without regard to national origin, race, color, gender, sexual orientation or any other protected classification under County, State of Maryland or federal laws.
