No portion of a private irrigation system should be placed within the public road right-of-way. Not only do these rights-of-way serve transportation needs, but also provide a route for public utilities such as water, sewer, gas, electric, and telecommunication facilities. The installation and maintenance of these facilities often requires excavation work in the rights-of-way which will damage unmarked private irrigation systems and in some cases results in water damage to County infrastructure and/or adjacent utilities.
All work performed in the public road right-of-way requires a Right-of-Way Permit, a Grading Permit, or Public Works Agreement.
